You know this weekend is UFC 86 and it seems to me that alot of people have counted Griffin out of this fight despite having him beat the shogun. so that has to make me wonder a few questions. Is the Shogun overrated? or was he off his A game? was it all a fluke? Is it more that Jackson has evolved since that loss and become a far more dangerous fighter? Or is it that Styles make matches and Jacksons style matches up very well against Griffins style? Me personally I made the pick last year that Jackson would take the belt from Liddell last year and alot of my friends laughed at me. Now I'm doing it again I'm going out on a limb and picking Griffin to make a huge upset and take home the gold. So am i crazy? or do i have some merit to my madness?

I think Griffin can win, he's not as athletically gifted as Rampage, but he works twice as hard, he has really good stand up when he's not brawling, he has a lot of heart too, if Rampage got a broken arm he would tell his corner to throw in the towel, Griffin will continue on to knock the guy out with his good arm
I didn't think Griffin could win until he recently acknowledged that he didn't have good punching power, that tells me that he's going to avoid Rampage's big punches and look to score with his crisp striking
I think Rampage likes to be on top and is good from that position, but Forrest has good jiu jitsu off his back and will be comfortable there
Rampage could be a little overrated, Griffin could be a little underrated, I think Rampage will win, but I would not be surprised if Forrest wins.

Could go either way and as much as I'd like to see Forrest pick up the victory I'm not sure if I see it happening.
Forrest needs to avoid the big punch(alas what Chuckie didn't do) and stick to his gameplan and not let jackson control the fight.

I have nothing against Forrest, but I hope he gets his god damn head bashed in just so people see he isn't as good as advertised.

I have nothing against Forrest, but I hope he gets his god damn head bashed in just so people see he isn't as good as advertised. this is what i've been waiting to hear. Griffin is a good fighter, but people are hyping him up to be the next fedor. Griffin's stand up is par at best, and jiu jitsu isn't even all that impressive either. Rampage has the better stand up and can work out of submissions like no one's business. i just don't really see how griffin is going to do anything. i mean really...

I think Forest can win but it's very unlikely. This is skill (Rampage) vs Forest (Heart). Nobody can deny that Forest has heart but I think Rampage is too good for him. I hope Forest can win but I don't see it.

I'm no fan of either of these men over the other, as I support both of them... But I've got a strange feeling that Forrest will come out the victor.

Fair enough, I honestly watched the fight and figured either shogun was off his A game or Griffin made a major leap

It also helped that Shogun had a major knee injury...

I'm not a Shogun nut hugger but he was hurt in his fight with Forrest. I have no doubt that it figred into his loss.
Forrest has heart and a good chin but he likes to brawl and if he tries to simply stand and bang he'll get crushed.
Forrest needs to push Rampage into later rounds. He has much better cardio and I think his work ethic is alot better.
Rampage may not be a BJJ master but his defense is one of the best. His wrestling will be better and I have no doubt he is the stronger fighter.
I figure Rampage to win this but it'll be a decnt fight and Forrest has the tools to pull an upset.

Tonights the night and despite its unlikely i dont think it would be as big of an upset as Serra beating GSP so like in everything in MMA anything can happen. that being said i only have one last thing to say GO GRIFFIN!!!!!

Forrest was handed the belt...
R1 - 10 / 9 Rampage R2 - 10 / 8 Griffin R3 - 10 / 9 Rampage R4 - 10 / 9 Rampage R5 - 10 / 9 I say Rampage because he hit stronger shots.
So I am left with a bad taste in my mouth over this as they are saying Forrest won3 or those round... NO CHANCE!!! And people complained about Kimbo... Yeah, not as bad, but still the fix was in. They did NOTHING but talk about how Forrest is basically the guy that made UFC as big as it was. That he would be a great champion... And so on and so forth. They wanted him to champion, so they made him the champion. If you disagree that's fine, but there is no way you can change my mind about this.
