[At once, the video opens with a three quarter shot of a young black male. He wears a black 'wifebeater' tank top and face filled with determination and elation.]
"I am Tyrone Grant and I'm a MMA fighter.'
[Flash.]
[Soon, the scene changes to show that of Tyrone's home gym in Houston, Texas, The Misfit DOJO. A large industrial type building with no windows, just four walls and a roof.]
[Flash.]
[Soon after, we get some shots of Tyrone punching the heavy bag, banging out some combinations with his coach at his back, watching his stop watch.]
[Grant stops for a brief moment, looks at the chain and flashes the same kind of grin that made 'Sugar' Ray Leonard a household name.]
[Flash.]
[Tyrone Grant.]
"I got a professional MMA record of 4-0. They weren't on a big stage like SoHK, but a win's a win."
[Flash.]
[Grant working his ground game out, sprawling and tossing around the heavy bag on the mats.]
[Flash.]
[Tyrone Grant.]
"The SoHK is a big step fo' a kid out tha' ghetto, ya kno? But, that's what I'm lookin' for. A fight. I'm a fighter, it's what I do and I feel I do that sh*t well, dig? I like punchin' kids in the face. I like suplexin' n*ggas, dig? I like battlin' with cats that say they the hardest...and I like stealin' they shine."
[Flash.]
[Grant, sweating and running hard on the treadmill. Pushing through that last minute.]
[Grant, shadowboxing in the ring.]
[Flash.]
[Tyrone Grant with a questioning look, as if he's fielding a question.]
"I don't wanna say that, yanno? I mean, I like fighting but I don't wanna come off like a pretender. Gettin' hit hurts, but I think it's more than that, ya kno?"
"It's the battle."
[Foucused eyes.]
"It's the ultimate between me an' some other dude; a guy that claims he's better than me...an' I can't let that dude be better than me.
[Flash.]
[Grant, on the ground, pummeling the large heavy bag beneath him.]
[Grant, on the ground, doing knuckle push ups.]
[Grant, in the cage, sparring...'clinched up' and 'dirty' boxing an opponent.]
[Flash.]
[The Ill Negro.]
[Barely audible, a question is asked: "Who is the Ill Negro and what makes him 'ill'?]
[Grant smiles.]
"My hands are atrocious, and after the guy's face hurt from gettin' punched so hard, so fast; he's gonna wanna close the distance or run away. An' the n*gga can only run in a circle for so long, ya kno? Then, BANG..."
[Bang.]
"Takedown, ground and pound till' his face look like hamburga' meat or ref stoppage."
[Flash.]
[More shots of Grant working hard in the gym. The desire is palpable. The determination is evident through your monitor as you see the next big welterweight sensation before your eyes.]
[Flash.]
[Tyrone 'Ill Negro' Grant.]
"I can't wait to be your next Welterweight champion, SoHK."
[Then, we're left with that (telling?) smile of Ty Grant...Who knows what the unpredictable nature of MMA holds for him?]
