Think of this as a chance to prove yourself. You are not in line to go for the title, that would either be to the two top guys of the group, aka Dux and Grayson.
But, imagine if you beat Sykes here? You'd probably be shoe in for the title shot afterwards.

Think of this as a chance to prove yourself. You are not in line to go for the title, that would either be to the two top guys of the group, aka Dux and Grayson. But, imagine if you beat Sykes here? You'd probably be shoe in for the title shot afterwards. I'd say going 4-0, finishing all the fights in the first round sets me up nicely. It makes no sense to have it as a non-title fight. If I beat him, I deserve the title. If he beats me, it wouldn't matter anyways. |

Have you beaten Eric Dux or Cameron Grayson yet?
If you haven't then it doesn't make sense yet.

Well, Mr. Grayson we meet again. Somewhat disappointed it is so soon, but a good fighter is a good fighter and I am always looking to fight the good fighters. I am guessing the winner (me) gets a shot at Sykes, no doubt. I will be training very hard to regain the title and bring the Dux name back into the light.
On another note, why not make the Floyd vs. Sykes fight for the title. They're the same weightclass, Floyd is 4-0, so he obviously has some skill. Yeah, I think he may be leapfrogging Grayson and I for that shot, but if he wins, he deserves it. And if he won't win, as Norbert is so confident about, Sykes should have no problem agreeing to it being for the belt.
Either way, neither of them will hold that belt for very long. It will come back to Dux Ryu. Then Norbert can drop down to the MW division and get his ass handed to him by Alarcon. And then he'll drop down to LW and get demolished by Cherry. Then he'll have nowhere else to run except right on out of the cage.

From a booking point of view, Me vs Sykes doesn't make much sense. If I win, a newbie who didnt exactly "deserve" a shot against the champion beat the champion. If I lose, they gave their best up and comer a total shutdown fight. |
