Glitch?

Not complaining that I lost, just how I fought. This was my start for the last fight vs. Gaunt at MNB 22 but I only shot for a takedown once, and I enver tried to clinch. I just stood and tried to bang with him.
Kicking= 1% Punching= 3% Grappling= 80% Resting= 1% Dirty Fighting= 15%
Was this some sort of glitch in the system? I figure that with this strat I would basically do nothing but either fight dirty or go for the clinch/takedowns.
I have heard talk of "breaking the Sim" is this one of those cases?

I think it might have to do with your stats, could be any number of things, did you ask your team mates if there's something in your stats causing you to not follow your gameplan?

dirty fighting is kind of standing and banging and if you have a high intelligence that too sometimes will cause you to do things outside of the norm.

The NHB sim is a delicate (read: slightly buggy) piece of work. That said, if you set your strategy to a state where it logically conflicts with itself (or your stats), you will of course fight in ways you never thought your strat would do.

Not knowing anything about your stats, my guess would be that your fighter either has a very high intelligence, or a very low intelligence. These are the two main reasons that I see when people strats will be "overridden" by their fighter come fight night.
Sometimes though, there is a glitch elsewhere in you strat, such as how you set your clinch vs. outside fighting points of your strat. If these conflict in different areas occasionally your strat will react in ways you didn't expect. For example I had a fighter that was primarily a boxer (though he had a good ground game as well) set to fight a guy primarily in the clinch. Even though I had my grappling set at a 1 in my general stat, I forgot to change my takedown strat to reflect this, and my fighter just went for takedowns every single time he got into the clinch. This fighter also had a high INR, which I think also help override my strat and my fighter ended up running a wrestling clinic on the guy, but it wasn't what I expected from the fight. I had everything else set for a dirty-boxing match.
And sometimes, the SIM will run a "glitch" and your fighter will not do anything you wanted him to do.

OOC: Yeah a perfect example of the sim glitching is my fight with Melvin. Not to take anything away from Melvin, but I didn't have a clue that my guy would go for a takedown, thats kinda ridiculous, oh well, I should've prepared ahead of time
