Ok this is the big fight i've said it once and i'll say it again: These two are the best in thier weightclass besides the champ.
Lets start with the matador. Huerta keeps shocking the shit out of me. everytime before, during and after a fight he shows he is the better fighter. I remember the Guida fight i had thought that he was his biggest challenge and Clay could put him away. going into the third round i was positive that Guida was going to walk away with the fight. Huerta had looked more human than ever before. I had never seen him rocked like that shot Guida hit him below the chin with a mac truck. Then going into the third round he looked like a man possesed. he was a completely different fighter like someone flipped a lightswitch in his head! Guida didnt know what hit him but it was over before the first minute of the third round finished. Huerta is a demon pushed into a human body the way he is almost indestructable.
Florian the ever changing warrior is next. I had counted Kenny out after he lost to Sherk. Hell most fighters kind of fall off the radar after they lose thier title shots. if you need a prime example look at Gonzaga, or Franca, or many other good fighters that get close to the elite but fall short. Kenny seems to be the opposite he got better after his loss. He showed that he has not only become a finisher by letting his attacks go wilder but he has shown that he has a new tenacity. He destroyed Dokujunusuke Mishima, Alvin Robinson, Din Thomas and Joe Lauzon. I think Lauzon was the most impressive since he has the reputation of a Giant Slayer. Joe always comes into fights he isnt supposed to win and shows his opponents up. in the fight with Florian they both went balls to the wall in the first round and going into the second round Joe tried to keep going full bore and Kenny showed the same level and ran Lauzon til he was out of gas and finished him from the mount.
So which is scarier going into 87 this saturday Huerta and his demon possesed fighting or Kenny and his ever evolving style?
Im hoping Kenny wins only because of the age factor. Huerta has a LONG time left in his career. I dont see Kenny continuing like Coture winning a title in his 40s. I feel this could be his last shot to win a title. he is in his early 30s but it would take another year and a half to get back to the top. Huerta can do that cuz hes only 24 Kenny doesnt have the luxery. Im not saying that i would be disapointed if Huerta won or surprised. But i think that Kenny is lookin at his last shot. and whats worse for Kenny is that even if he beats Huerta he is looking at a bigger monster in BJ Penn.
One last thing in every ranking i've seen neither Kenny nor Roger is in the top ten lightweights. may i just say WHAT THE FUCK??? but anyways weigh in guys about this fight.
