Roger Huerta recently said in an interview and i quote "No offence to him, but it's a cakewalk". Talking about the fight with Kenny Florian. at first i thought it was pure confidence. Then i thought about where huerta started. he used to sell rosaries on the streets to feed his family. he is a survivor, so a fight prolly seems like a simple thing. I dont know what do you guys think? Confidence or Cockiness?

The way i fell about stuff like this is 50%Confidence/ self Confidence, 50% Cockiness 100% hype. which is the only way to sell or oversell a fight, |

thats a good point but isnt that more Joe Rogan and Dana whites job? It's up to the fighters to present what would seem like bad blood when needed to hype a fight. In this case, he's using cockiness and is probably wanting to make people want to see him lose so they'll watch the fight. (At least that's what I'd do). |

Tito made a career out of hyping his fights. Does Huerta really think this fight will be a cakewalk? I doubt it. He's selling himself and this fight. More people will want to either see him proved right or watch him get killed. How do I know this is true? Well, we're here talking about it aren't we?

I seriously dont think Huerta personally thinks that Kenny Florian is an easy fight because Kenny isn't at all. He really showed me that in the Lauzon fight. Before that fight, Lauzon was blasting through all of his opponents with ease and he did very well during the 1st round against Kenny, but he gassed himself out trying to overwhelm Florian early and Florian took over in the 2nd round and ground and pounded for a referee stoppage. Huerta is definitely a different style match up for Kenny than Joe, Huerta is a better striker and probably more conditioned. It's an interesting fight for sure. |

ya, but do you think huerta can stop Kenny from taking him down? Guida stuffed him for two rounds and in the third Huerta seemed to hit a whole new level. But I think Kenny is stronger in the clinch and has better throws and knows more ways to get a guy to the ground. AND he is going to use his longass legs to bust up huertas knees. This is gonna be a good fight regardless

Dude.... it's all about the hype. How often do you see fighters talk shit for weeks before a fight, and then when it's over they are best fucking friends. He is a very confident person no doubt because if you aren't then you shouldn't be fighting because you will be destroyed. But I highly doubt he is arrogant enough to think Florian is a joke. I see Florian winning due to a medical stoppage of a cut to Huerta's head from some more illegal elbows that are not called illegal. Anyway, yeah, I don't think he's cocky simply due to him not being that way ever in the past. And ya got to remember this is one of he main selling fights of the PPV. It HAS to be hyped and I don't see Florian being able to do it simply because he's a boring mother fucker who can fight.
